About the Exhibition

Project "Petrov-the heart of legions” this is a modern museum initiative that brings closer the key role of Piotr Trybunalski in the activities of the military Department of the Supreme National Committee and in the process of forming the Polish legions. The project implemented by the Museum in Piotrkow Trybunalski shows history as an important tool for civic and public education, strengthening local identity and awareness of the city's independence heritage.

Centralnym elementem projektu jest nowoczesna wystawa prezentowana w siedzibie Muzeum w Piotrkowie Trybunalskim przy Placu Zamkowym 4, w historycznych wnętrzach dawnego Zamku Królewskiego – niegdyś siedziby Jagiellonów. Ekspozycja łączy oryginalne artefakty, rekonstrukcje, materiały archiwalne oraz nowoczesne formy narracji wizualnej, tworząc angażujące i przystępne doświadczenie edukacyjne dla szerokiego grona odbiorców.

Digital and cinematic activities are also an important part of the project. A special subpage is being created that allows people from all over the country and abroad to access the exhibition content. The exhibition ends with a series of historical films of an educational and popularizing nature, prepared in collaboration with an annoying historian, bringing the context of events and characters associated with Petrkov and the Polish legions closer.

The project is implemented in cooperation with the State Archive in Piotrkow Trybunalski and Cor Ignis, which ensures a high level of content, reliable transmission and strong educational opportunities. The project's activities are aimed at preserving and popularizing cultural heritage, increasing the accessibility of culture, developing digital and educational competencies, and promoting Petrków Trybunalski as a city with a rich and significant heritage of independence.

Total project cost 121,954.50 PLN, from what 78 150.00 PLN This is funding from the European Union. The project is implemented under a grant KPO Grants 2025. A2. 5. 1-a program to support the activities of cultural and creative industries to promote their development, declared by KPO culture.
