1914
July 29, 1914 - Petrovtsy read out the message about the beginning of the war, which was given by the 30th issue of the Petrovsky Chronicle.

July 30, 1914 - The authorities of the Russian Empire ordered a general mobilization.

August 1, 1914 - Petrkovsky Governor Mikhail Yachevsky issued an order to evacuate the provincial authorities.

August 3, 1914 - Officials, military families, as well as reservists and military detachments evacuated from the southern districts of the Petrkov province arrived in Petrkov.

August 3, 1914 - A civic committee has been set up to organize life in the city abandoned by the Russian authorities. The Committee was headed by Rector Evgeny Lipinsky.

August 4, 1914 - In the "Petrovsky Chronicle "appeared" The Supreme Manifesto", in which Tsar Nicholas II announced the outbreak of war with Austria and Germany.

1916
January 7, 1916 - A National Committee was established in Piotrków, created first by bringing together the pro-independence parties of the Kingdom of Poland.

January 8, 1916 - The 12th Congress of the Communist Party of Poland held in Piotrkow, and the Revolutionary Faction spoke out against further recruitment to the Polish legions in accordance with the instructions of Jozef Pilsudski.

August 6, 1916 - On the territory of the Posternardine gardens, the grand opening of the so - called "shield of the legions" took place-probably the first souvenir of this kind dedicated to the legionary cause in the lands of the Polish Kingdom.

September 17, 1916 - The League of Polish Statehood organized a congress of landowners in Piotrkow with the participation of Warsaw President Sigismund Chmielewski. The Congress voted in favor of recruiting for the legions.

November 6, 1916 - The Piotrkowski National Committee organized a grandiose demonstration on the occasion of the creation of the Polish Kingdom in accordance with the act of November 5 issued by the emperors of Germany and Austria. It is estimated that about 10 thousand people took part in it.

1917
January 4, 1917 - The city council was created, and lawyer Kazimierz Rudnicki was elected president of the city.

January 9, 1917 - A general meeting of members of the Piotr Branch of the Polish Local History Society was held. The 165 members of the association, despite the war, carried out their statutory activities, cooperating with the authorities of the Supreme National Committee, as well as initiating and participating in cultural and historical events of local lore.

January 27, 1917 - The recruitment bureau of the military department of the Supreme National Committee has begun moving from Piotrkow to Warsaw.

February 15, 1917 - In the Piotrkowski Hall of the Association of Artisans and Merchants, the first meeting of the first Polish Piotrkowski City Council after many years was held.

April 6, 1917 - In "Petrkovsky golos" No. 12 appeared: address M. Piotrkowski to Brigadier Jozef Pilsudski in Warsaw, signed by 40 Piotrkowski public institutions.

June 9, 1917 - At the XIII Congress of the Polish Socialist Party Revolutionary Faction, held in Piotrków, the slogan of surrendering the legions to Poland and uniting all Polish lands was put forward.

June 17, 1917 - The Petrkovsky National Committee organized a rally in connection with the upcoming elections to the national councils.

July 15, 1917 - A solemn meeting of the County National Council was held in Piotrków, where the first official demand for the unification of Polish lands and the creation of an independent Polish state was adopted.

September 3, 1917 - Boleslav Novitsky assumed the post of President of Petrkov.

October 15, 1917 - The so-called "Kosciuszkowski detour" was organized in Piotrków on the occasion of the centenary of the death of the national hero. The square in front of the Posternardine church was then named after the chief of the uprising, and in the city park the freedom oak was planted and a memorial obelisk was opened.
1918
February 16, 1918 - After the solemn services "for the welfare of the Fatherland" held in all Peter's churches, many thousands of patriotic demonstrations took place.

July 25, 1918 - The congress of delegates of teachers ' societies from three undivided sections has started in Petrkow.

July 25, 1918 - The Piotrkowski branch of the Polish Society of Local Lore has established a committee for the restoration of Piotrkowski Castle.

July 27, 1918 - The Congress of Delegates of Teachers ' Societies at the end of the meeting adopted the concept of the future model of education in independent Poland, which was implemented already in 1919.

September 3, 1918 -With the consent of the occupying Austro-Hungarian authorities, the Piotr Castle Restoration Committee seized the historic building and issued a patriotic appeal to Polish society.

October 25, 1918 - The Imperial Royal County Command in Piotrkow has announced the transfer of the former Piotrkow Castle for use by the Polish Local History Society, subject to ownership rights to the Polish government.

November 2, 1918 - Piotrkow has heard the news about the seizure of Polish power in Krakow. The soldiers of the Polish legions who were in the city, led by Captain Rutsinsky, took the oath of allegiance to the Motherland. The ceremony was held on Kosciuszko Square.

November 2, 1918 "The Piotrkowites are beginning to disarm the rest of the Austro-Hungarian forces stationed in Piotrkow.

November 3, 1918 - A patriotic ceremony was organized on the Slope behind the park, during which the soldiers of the 100th Teszyn Infantry Regiment stationed in the city took the oath of allegiance to the Polish authorities.

November 5, 1918 - The commandant of the Austro-Hungarian occupation authorities, Colonel Mach, was removed from the city.

November 10, 1918 - A political rally was called in the hall of the cinema "witchcraft". Its rupture led to the appearance on the streets of the city of armed militants of political parties. The threat of fratricidal fighting was controlled by General Tadeusz Viktor, Colonel Jan Govt and Dr. Jan Dunikowski, a Polish government delegate in Piotrkowski County.

November 11, 1918 - Announcement of the official restoration of Poland's independence. Authorities in the city took over the city council and the board headed by President Boleslav Novitsky.
